2020 has been an interesting year. Am I right? We’re almost done with it and as we move through the holiday seasons, it's a great time to reflect back on everything that has happened.
First on my list – my book published this year!! This is the most exciting thing ever for me and has been the culmination and highlight of my year. Yes, some parts of this year have been very stressful, overwhelming, sad, and scary. But, like the babies, and weddings, and laughter that have all still happened, there’s a lot to be thankful for. So I’m not only happy and thankful for that amazing life event, but the kids and I, though we’ve been inside and together more than usual, have been healthy and making it through.
I, like many back in March in the early days of quarantining and social distancing, thought I’d be so productive whilst trapped inside. Unfortunately, my reality is a little bleaker there than I’d imagined. I did get Turn edited, promoted, and out. Which … yay! I’m about 20,000 more words into a new book (that I’d hoped to finish before the end of the year… yikes) and halfway through editing on an older one that needed some real work. So, even if it wasn’t as much as I thought, I did still make progress on the writing front.
Only a few of the projects around the house got done, and we only took about half as many walks over the summer as I thought we would (though still more than usual!), and my exercise routine didn’t last.
But, all in all, 2020 has probably been the most interesting year in total I’ve lived through.
Hope everyone else is as healthy, safe, and happy as can be!
For auld lang syne, my dear
For auld lang syne
We'll tak a cup o' kindness yet
For days of auld lang syne
